Another way for Steganography.

Hey Friends,Earlier I posted on "Use Steganography to Hide Files behind Another Files"

Today I am posting a New way for it.This trick is far more easy and better than the earlier.This trick provides you to hide almost any file into any other file with a different Extension.


WHAT IS STEGANOGRAPHY?

Steganography is the art and science of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one, apart from the sender and intended recipient, suspects the existence of the message, a form of security through obscurity. The word steganography is of Greek origin and means "concealed writing" from the Greek words steganos (στεγανός) meaning "covered or protected", and graphei (γραφή) meaning "writing". The first recorded use of the term was in 1499 by Johannes Trithemius in his Steganographia, a treatise on cryptography and steganography disguised as a book on magic. Generally, messages will appear to be something else: images, articles, shopping lists, or some other covertext and, classically, the hidden message may be in invisible ink between the visible lines of a private letter.

The advantage of steganography, over cryptography alone, is that messages do not attract attention to themselves. Plainly visible encrypted messages—no matter how unbreakable—will arouse suspicion, and may in themselves be incriminating in countries where encryption is illegal. Therefore, whereas cryptography protects the contents of a message, steganography can be said to protect both messages and communicating parties.

Steganography includes the concealment of information within computer files. In digital steganography, electronic communications may include steganographic coding inside of a transport layer, such as a document file, image file, program or protocol. Media files are ideal for steganographic transmission because of their large size. As a simple example, a sender might start with an innocuous image file and adjust the color of every 100th pixel to correspond to a letter in the alphabet, a change so subtle that someone not specifically looking for it is unlikely to notice it.

With this trick you can-

1.) Hide any Text file into Audio File.


2.) Hide any File into .AVI or Video File.

3.) Hide any Text into .JPEG or .BMP File.

4.) Hide any .MP3 file into a Text file.

5.) Hide any .MP3, .AVI, Text, .BMP, .JPEG Files into a .EXE file.

6.) Hide any .EXE file into .TXT , .AVI , .MP3 , .BMP , .JPEG files.

and Much More...

Just Follow the Steps Below to Do it-

1. First Download the StegoMagic software from here.

2. Now,Extract its Content and you'll see the following Files.

3. Now,You'll see Two Applications, Namely-

a) StegoMagic_BIN 


b) StegoMagic_TXT


Now,I'll tell you what are these files used for-

StegoMagic_BIN is used to Hide Binary Data like Image, Audio/Video and EXE files.

StegoMagic_TXT is used to Hide Text Data only.

First,I'll explain How to Use the StegoMagic_BIN.


I'll Use a .MP3 and a Text file.
I'll Hide the .MP3 file into the Text file.

HOW TO EMBED THE FILE?

Just Copy a .MP3 file and a Text File with the secret message you want to hide in the Same Folder as of StegoMagic.

Click the File to Enlarge.

Now Open the StegoMagic_BIN. It looks like this-

Now,To Embed the Data, Press 1 on the StegoMagic_BIN screen.

Now,It'll ask you to Enter the File name You want to Embed. I'll Enter the Name of my File in which we want to Embed the other file,Just Enter the Name of the .TXT file that is to be hided along with its extension.

Now,It'll ask you to Enter the File name which is to be embedded inside the Text File.Just Enter the Name of the .MP3 file along with its Extension. Now,Hit Enter and It'll do some processes and then show that Embedding Successfully Done.

Along with that,It'll give you a Secret Key for Decryption.


Note: Keep this Secret Key for Decryption in a safe place as it will be needed for the decryption process.


Now,A new Text File will be added to the Folder of StegoMagic named SecretKey.txt it'll contain the name of the file that is embedded and the secret key for decryption.
Now,Delete the .MP3 File from the folder of StegoMagic.


HOW TO DECRYPT THE FILE?


Now,To Decrypt your .MP3 file from the Text File,Just open the StegoMagic_BIN and Press the 2 Key.

Now,Just Enter the File name you want to decrypt.I'll enter the Name of my Text File along with its extension and then hit Enter Key.

Now,It'll ask for the name of the Output file and is embedded inside the Text file,Enter the Name of the .MP3 file and hit the Enter Key.

Now,It'll ask for the Secret Key For Decryption. Just Enter the Key it gave you earlier in the process of Encryption and Hit the Enter Key.

Now,it'll do some processes and if you entered the right information,it'll decrypt successfully.Now you can see that the .MP3 file will come into the StegoMagic folder.

THE STEGOMAGIC_TXT APPLICATION CAN BE USED IN THE SAME WAY ABOVE BUT IS USED TO HIDE TEXT FILES INSIDE OTHER FILES LIKE .MP3, .3GP, .BMP, .JPEG,etc

With Steganography you can-


Hide Text Files into .BMP, .JPG Images and many more things.


Hide Text Files into .WAV Sound Files.


In this Tutorial,We'll Be using STEGHIDE software for Doing This.


First,Download StegHide From Here.


After Downloading the .RAR file,Extract it.


Now Copy one .JPG Image and One Text File.

Click Photo to Enlarge.

Now Open RUN and Type CMD.


Now,Command Prompt will open,Type cd downloads.

Now,type cd steghide.




Now,Type Steghide.exe

Click Photo to Enlarge.

STEGHIDE has been opened in Command Prompt and now
 Steganography can be used.


TO EMBED A .TXT FILE INTO A .JPG FILE


Now,Type steghide embed -cf Kanishk-Singh.jpg -ef Secret-Text.txt


NOTE: In My Case,I have used the Kanishk-Singh Picture name and Secret-File as file names,But you can use your desired Pic name and replace the Names in the above script with yours.


Now the Computer will Ask you for a Passphrase.


Note: This Passphrase will be needed to decrypt the File too,so choose the Passphrase wisely.


While Entering the Passphrase,it is not shown,but behind it is stored.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Delete the Text file after it has been successfully embedded.

TO DECRYPT THE TEXT FILE FROM .JPG FILE.


Now,To Extract the text file from .JPG image,Follow the Instructions.


First,Open a New CMD or if you haven't closed the Current one in which you Embedded the file USE IT ONLY.


Follow all the above steps but do not follow the step of Embedding,that means upto OPENING StegHide IN CMD.


Now,For extracting,Type this-


steghide extract -sf Kanishk-Singh.jpg 


The Computer will again ask you for a passphrase,type the same passphrase you used earlier while embedding the file.If you enter the right Passphrase then your File Will be UNLOCKED!
