Cherry Mobile has been releasing Android phones for awhile now but the newest offering is the most compelling yet. The Cherry Mobile W900, dubbed "The Dragon Phone" because of its 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S2 processor, looks like it is making it on our list of best budget smartphones which we are coming out with in a few days. The specifications are very compelling for its Php9,999 asking price.
- Android 2.3
- 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800) display
- 1 GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD card. 8 GB MicroSD card supplied.
- 512 MB of RAM
- 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor
- Adreno 205 graphics
- Qualcomm chipset
- 5 MP primary camera with a LED flash
- Secondary camera
- 720p video capture
- HSDPA+ 21.1 Mbps connectivity
What really impresses about this phone is that for less than 10K you get a large high resolution display and HSDPA 21.1+ connectivity. Even Apple's iPhone does not have that yet.
We will have to get back to you on how much of the 1 GB internal memory is user available and how big the battery is.

The biggest disappointment is that it is still running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) instead of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Cherry Mobile has not made a commitment that this phone will be upgradeable to Android 4.0.
